Automatic hardness tester EMCO M5U 300xy
The hardness tester EMCO M5U 300xy can be used for measuring Brinell, Vickers and Rockwell hardness. The hardness dots
are analyzed automatically by means of image processing software and therefore without subjective factors. In addition,
the hardness tester has a numerically controlled table with a free actuation area of 500×300 mm.
This makes the machine suitable for analyzing hardness profiles and distributions.
With a supported load of 200 kg, hardness profiles can be measured even in 60E1 rails of 3 m length (180 kg).

Bending press BP 300
The bending press carries out static fracture tests of Thermit welds. With a breaking load of 3000kN, even the heaviest
profiles can be tested. Test data is recorded and analyzed by a modern measuring data system of the firm of Zwick. Data
is visualized in the industrial PC and included in the online Oracle database.

Fatigues testing machine, pulser
This servo-hydraulic test system from the firm of Werkzeugprüfmaschinen allows studies of the dynamic load of rail welds.
Applying loads far below the maximum load limit, test welds are loaded either to the limit of technical endurance limit
and are then broken or they are fatigued to the state of failure. The highest dynamic force that can be applied is 600 kN.
Static tests up to 1000 kN can be carried out. The data acquired and analyzed by the software provide information of whether
the rail joins produced by a certain welding method will withstand the dynamic loads in the rail for a longer period of time.
Depending on the requirements by the railways, all combinations of maximum stress and minimum stress can be set to simulate
different stress situations.

Static testing machine
This smaller testing machine from the firm of Instron cannot test complete rail sections but studies material samples.
With a maximum load of 5 kN for tension and compression, the pressure bearing capacity of fireproof molds, for example,
can be tested. The mechanical characteristics of the weld metal, e.g., Thermit steel, can also be analyzed with this machine.
