To ensure the quality of the products of Elektro-Thermit GmbH & Co. KG, random samples are taken and processed by methods of mathematical statistics to draw conclusions for the entire manufacturing process.
Statistical Process Control (SPC) is a method which instead of detecting faults helps avoid them. In practice, this means that the processes leading to the product are controlled, instead of the product. The target is not the elimination of the fault but of its source. SPC is helpful in identifying faults in the process to reduce their effects on the product. This reduces the scatter of the quality characteristics. The number of determining factors is reduced to make processes more robust. Reduced scatter affects the quality and life of a product.
